This is the second edition of APULIA WINE IDENTITY in less than a year, and the body of participating firms has already expanded to include more fine wineries: a sign of the strong consensus generated by this event’s objectives. There is a lot of interest and participation among our wineries, and the world is ready to listen to these producers as they reach for higher quality and new markets without reneging on their identity. The excellence achieved by our firms is self-evident, and can compete with the most renowned of Europe’s wine regions. This positive scenario - Apulian exports are still growing - does not free us from the vital necessity of promoting a deeper and more personal understanding of our territories, varieties and wines among the highest levels of the international specialized press and critics. With Apulia Wine Identity, we are undertaking an unprecedented promotional and educational effort which is already yielding positive results. This has been possible thanks to the support of the wineries, thanks to the wholehearted participation of Apulia’s Regional Institutions and Unioncamere, and thanks to our technical partners Gambero Rosso and Unicredit, which have embraced the Puglia Best Wine Consortium’s project without reservations.
