Agostino and Pietrina met during the war; he - a Tuscan cook - brought her, an Apulian, to live in Tuscany. To have her back, in 1952 Pietrina’s father bought a restaurant-cellar for his daughter and in-law; the restaurant was a success, and moved to its current location in 1960. Since then, the Gatto Rosso has always prepared its delicious dishes with the same love with brought it to life 50 years ago.
